Timesheets without spreadsheets (or chasing people)

AttendanceOctober 9, 2026·2 min read·by the Teamdott team

The monthly timesheet chase is one of the purest wastes of time in business: employees reconstructing their month from memory, a manager chasing stragglers, and a spreadsheet that is wrong in ways nobody will ever discover.

Timesheets should be a by-product

If people clock in and out as they work, the timesheet already exists — it just needs to be drawn. Teamdott's Timesheets tab is exactly that: a month grid, one row per person, one cell per day, built from the same records the clock wrote.

Corrections without chaos

Someone will forget to clock out — that is a law of nature. Anyone with the Correct attendance permission can open any day and fix the in/out times; the day is then marked corrected, so there is an honest trail instead of silent edits. (Who gets that permission is up to the Head of HR — see delegating HR access.)

Month-end in practice: open Timesheets, scan for red cells, fix the two forgotten clock-outs, done. The same numbers flow into payroll untouched — present days × day rate, plus overtime at your multiplier.
